Simon de Montfort Society. Evesham is an historical market town filled with history, magnificent old buildings, arcades, shops, pubs and restaurants. The market square will play host to our re-enactors gathering before their parade and will also be an information point for visitors. Almonry Museum and Heritage Centre. The Almonry also plays home to the Evesham Tourist Information Centre where information about the town, surrounding areas, accomodation and souvenirs can be sourced. Quirky family run hotel.

Simon de Montfort Society. 2015 is the 750th anniversary of the Battle of Evesham. A series of events, services and activities took place to mark the anniversary over a two week period between 1 and 15 August 2015. These activities remembered the loss of life; celebrated the great work and legacy de Montfort left behind and re-enacted a part of British medieval history. Commemorate and Democracy Day with guest speakers including The Speaker (John Bercow), and the Bishop of Dudley. Craft and farm markets.

The Battle of Evesham was fought on the morning of the 4th August 1265, between the rebel barons led by Simon de Montfort and the army of King Henry III, under his son Prince Edward. Heavily outnumbered De Montfort's charged his cavalry into the enemy ranks. The battle lasted for some hours before turning into a bloody massacre. Both de Montfort and his son Henry were killed, along with around 4,000 of his soldiers.
