Friday, July 27, 2012. Being creative keeps me excited about my day. Choosing to be mindful keeps me connected to my world. I am surrounded by beauty. I am in awe of the miracles of everyday living. I am young in spirit. Such a sweet little hummer- -a juvenile, perhaps? Oh, you definitely are a young spirit, a beautiful spirit. :). July 29, 2012 at 6:02 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Ayurveda Way: October 2011
http://q-theayurvedaway.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 28, 2011. Magic in the air. Each day the butterflies are in the gardens is a blessed day. We have had a few light frosts. The marigolds have been outstanding this year. They are my marigolds.seed to seed for many, many years. I once again took my yoga to the deck. Once again I took my meditation outdoors. I wanted to be with the butterflies and birds. The colors mix with the scent of wood fires. I am reminded of long ago bonfires. I can hear laughter in the Northern wind. And the seed pods.

A few bugs were out sunning this afternoon. It has been 34 days since our last rain. We planted 200 Purissima tulips in the Fig Garden and. 20 Swan Wing tulips in the Wind Spinner bed. Along with 100 Jeanne D'Arc Crocus. I think both of these areas will look lovely next spring. We had our first frost on the 19th.

Almanac: January 2012
http://q-almanac.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 21, 2012. January has been dry. Temperatures have been up into the 60's and down into the single digits. The birds have been at the suet and seeds. We have put fresh water out. We have five suet cakes out. Four are in the front yard and one is in the backyard. All are busy spots. I enjoyed watching the little Downy wait his turn. He was respectful towards Red Bellied. But after a few minutes he was ready for his turn at the suet. The Hairy Woodpecker looks just like the Downy only.

Q's Kitchen: Science
http://q-kitchen.blogspot.com/2012/08/science.html
Monday, August 6, 2012. I was reading this morning about the Hazel nut. The hazel nut in Celtic legends is an emblem of concentrated wisdom, and all the knowledge of the arts and sciences was to be found by eating these nuts.". We have entered the time of the Hazel Tree. It is a Wisdom Tree. There are two sides to this tree. The tree of wisdom was put to destructive use when Finn made a shield from its wood and the noxious vapors killed thousands of his enemies in battle.". I thought about science.
