This time the dollies joined us. Santa Barbara - Spring Break. At Kid's World Park in downtown Santa Barbara. She only looks like she's wrestling this dolphin statue - but she won. Saturday, January 12, 2013. My kids say funny things - most kids do - and I write them on the calendar whenever I can. Sometimes I forget. This is the last two years worth - they're 9 and almost 6 right now. Be warned, they are my children, so eating and farting are favorite subjects. Audrey “Advice is something you don’t have to listen to if you don’t want to.”. Claire “I don’t wike dowympics.” (I don’t like the Olympics). Claire “I love you daddy. You know what else I love? Claire “Is it openable?

Beansandtaters: April 2013
http://beansandtaters.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 26, 2013. Peacocks in Palos Verdes. There are wild peacocks roaming the nearby hills. When Mark and I first moved here we went for a drive and then a walk that stopped abruptly when we saw a peacock, with feathers unfurled, tap dancing on somebody's driveway. The homeowner happened to step outside, and I asked "Is that your peacock? He looked at me like I was quite stupid and explained that the peacocks just go where they want. Claire celebrated her birthday with her classmates. We had ...

Beansandtaters: Miss Claire is 8
http://beansandtaters.blogspot.com/2015/08/miss-claire-is-8.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Miss Claire is 8. Claire turned 8 a few months ago - I hate to say how many months. The voice that wakes me up at 3 in the morning and lists all the things I didn't do that I need to do has been reminding me regularly that writing Claire's birthday post has been delayed way too long. I know Claire won't hold it against me. Claire finished second grade in June. She spent the year learning all the things that come with second grade: multiplication, book reports, classroom jobs&#...
