Quilting Mom's Blog

Sunday, July 26, 2015. Stash Report - Weeks 28-30, 2015. Both of my stash usages over these last few weeks have been in support of some of my goals for the year - it is nice when it works out that way! First up is my string blocks - I cut a few more foundations so that I am ready to go for the next few months, and I also made the two blocks for this month in the cream colorway. I am close to finished on it - down to the hand sewing at the end now. Fabric added last 3 weeks: 0 yards. Tuesday, July 21, 2015.

Quilting Mom's Blog: June 2015

2016 APQ UFO Challenge List. Monday, June 22, 2015. String Blocks and Teacher Gifts. I didn't get my May blocks made in May, so I worked on them in early June and yesterday made a couple in the teal-blue colorway. Here are the most recent blocks, and then all of them on my design wall. Oranges - my color from May. Teal-blues made for June. I just love how these blocks look all together and can't wait to make enough to get them into a quilt top. The kids are off for the summer now, and they have been enjo...

2016 APQ UFO Challenge List. Monday, May 11, 2015. April 2015 Cooking Challenge. It seems over the past couple months that our challenge has been more about pulling out recipes we've made before and making them again. We now have such a big set to pull from that we get some great variety in the menus. We did try three new recipes in April. The first was from Cooking Light - Quick Fried Brown Rice. I think it was a honey/soy marinade. It was good and another easy weeknight meal. Those look great, Jennifer!

The Lone Quilter: YEEEEEE HAAAAAAAW!!!

http://thelonequilter.blogspot.com/2010/12/yeeeeee-haaaaaaaw.html

Wednesday, December 29, 2010. This post is dedicated to a very special quilt for a very special person in my life. S house (HOLLLLLLAAAA Jill). I had it all cut out but didn't get it all pieced until July. I am very happy with the way it turned out. The original fabric is this adorable Alexander Henry fabric called "From the Hip." You should all know that I have a bit of an obsession with his fabric and have quite the stash of his fabric! This one shows some of the original panel. What a neat idea! I am ...

Thursday, October 14, 2010. Girls and Dolls.doll QUILTS, that is! Here is one of my latest projects that I'm excited about. It's the first quilt that I drew up in EQ6 (Electric Quilt Software) and took all the way to completion! I have designed more quilts in EQ than I will ever be able (or want) to actually create. It's nice to play around with fabrics and colors and know that I don't have to physically create that particular quilt if I don't want to. Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild (HOLLLLLAAAA, Jill!

Snippy Sews Sometimes: October 2009

Friday, October 30, 2009. Sewing Like the Wind. Next up was a pair of pillow cases from some sock monkey fabric that I had been sitting on for a while. I think they turned out really cute and I can't wait to use them. At the last minute I decided that I needed to make a larger bag to carry all my toiletries in. I use two pieces of batiks that came from my friend Sherry a couple of weeks ago. I think the bag turned our really nice and it's going to be very useful. Friday, October 30, 2009. My Mom Turned 90.

Friday, October 28, 2011. Bloggers Quilt Festival Time. Its been awhile since I posted anything but I really wanted to join in Amy's Blogger Quilt Festival. Again I call this quilt 'Chicken and Stars' and I just finished it this week! Then I decided on its placement and that I wanted prairie points on the quilt too. Let me just say that I wasn't sure I was going to like this quilt the whole time I was making it, I just couldn't see it finished in my head. It is so perfect for the son of my baby brother!

Musings of a WoW crafter

Tuesday, November 18, 2014. I have a confession to make. I really enjoy taking screenshots in World of Warcraft. Especially of the whale sharks. Whale sharks are one of my favorite animals and I think it's really neat that in WoW I can swim up and hug one. It's almost a rite of passage as my characters level to get a photo of them with the whale shark. Here are a few of my favorites:.
