Renovating, decorating and creating in an 1867 Pennsylvania farmhouse. Friday, June 26, 2015. FARMHOUSE FRIDAY - OUR FARMHOUSE PORCH. Hello and welcome to this month's edition of FARMHOUSE FRIDAY! This month we are showing our farmhouse porches. Our farmhouse porch has been a work in progress up until about three days ago, when we finally put a check mark next to "Finish Porch" on our to do list. When we first bought our farmhouse this area was a big screened in porch which sounds wonderful right? Neal f...

http://7grands.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
April 20, 2015. Happy Valentines Day to me. . . I cant believe it’s been so long since I shared anything new. Spring came early this year. While I’m not complaining, I have a hard time staying inside. I take my coffee outside first thing in the morning and before I know it I’ve spent the better part of the day out in the flower beds. I was rackin my brain tryin to decide what to do and then I realized I hadn’t shared this beauty. I know, I’m so. It’s the perfect size for the space. I staged it ...We have...

http://7grands.blogspot.com/2015/02/my-new-lovelies.html
February 4, 2015. My new love lies. As promised, I have a few new treasures to share with you. First up. . . antique pantry boxes. These beauties were adopted from my favorite antique mall, Yesteryears. There were 7 on display, I wanted all of them. But I settled on these 3. I got a good deal on them since I was buying 3. The booth belonged to a Dr. He travels back east and finds the most dreamy pieces, things we rarely see in Montana. It was a whomppin 10 bucks! Next is my new pie safe. . LOL Dru. &...

real simple style: Christmas in the dining room
http://7grands.blogspot.com/2014/12/christmas-in-dining-room.html
December 8, 2014. Christmas in the dining room. There is a lot to look at, tons of pictures. I have a list 10 miles long of stuff I have to do to get ready for Christmas, so I decided to do the entire room at once and be done with it. Blogging takes a lot of time. I kept it all simple and natural. We’re spending Christmas at my daughters this year, so I didn’t put a tree up. I have a small Charlie Brown tree in the living room, that’s going to be it this year. December 8, 2014 at 12:48 PM. Hi Gayle, and ...

http://7grands.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
October 31, 2014. Fluffin’ for fall. We have had the most beautiful fall weather. Here in Montana we don’t usually get to enjoy Indian summer weather. Generally we go from hot summer to brief cooler temps right into shoveling snow. It’s such a gorgeous time of year. I secretly wish it was like this year round. I’ve had a yucky cold and haven’t felt like doing much but sleep. Today I finally decided to do something productive besides make me a cozy nest on the sofa. I don’t like to take pictures fro...

real simple style: Because farmhouses didn’t have A/C
http://7grands.blogspot.com/2015/01/because-farmhouses-didnt-have-ac_28.html
January 28, 2015. Because farmhouses didn’t have A/C. Here’s what it looked like when I brought it home. I had already removed the inside shelf before I took this picture. I took the back off too, I just set it in place for the photo shoot. You can see the gap on the back side of the sides. But this is OK, it will help in the ventilation in the summer when I use it. And tada. . . here it is all finished up. And here’s one for Megan. . . an MB red linen grain sack. . . And here’s the eye sore behind...

February 23, 2014. A few random things. In this photo, you can see a close up of the frayed seams. And. . . A glimpse of a new dough bowl. I placed a bid on E-bay, the auction didn’t end for 7 days. I forgot all about it. Then I get an e mail telling me to enjoy my new *Munising wood bowl* The best part is I bid $4.99 and it was free shipping! I love it when that happens, never to me.This beaut is over 15" wide! I was lucky to get 3 dough bowls from 3 different places in 3 days. . . (read on). The wood b...

real simple style: November 2014
http://7grands.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
November 14, 2014. I got a bad case of cabin fever being stuck inside all week. I refuse to drag out the Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean I can’t throw out the fading mini boos and bring in some fresh greenery to liven the place up. I did some winter decorating. I just love this homely little wreath. I got it from a local vendor at the farmers market this past summer. It kinda grows on me. And last. . . my new stove. . .
